DTBHQ is widely used in the synthetic rubber, plastic and resin industries in numerous ways. As a polymerization inhibitor in the plastic and resin industry, dtbhq is successful, particularly in applications where inhibitors should exhibit low vapor pressure. As an antioxidant, dtbhq provides good stability during processing and storage of unsaturated polyesters. In the synthetic rubber industry, dtbhq is used predominantly as an antioxidant, stopping agent and colour stabilizer. Dtbhq is used as a stabilizer and an anti-skinning agent in paints.
